 Modern Languages in the Primary Schools (MLPS)
LanguageLinks has been involved since 1994 in the training of Primary School Teachers in Scotland as part of the Scottish Executive´s MLPS Programme. We have organised training and refresher courses for the councils of Edinburgh, Fife, Midlothian, Argyll & Bute, and Renfrewshire. At the Modern Languages Day in Edinburgh and the European Day of Languages we offered workshops, to teachers.
We have written and adapted teaching materials with the Goethe –Institut and City of Edinburgh Council.
Training and Refresher Courses for Primary Teachers
Our training and refresher courses present creative ideas to help teachers integrate German into best primary practice. We offer a structured language course designed to develop teachers’ linguistic skills and confidence. We introduce stimulating material for children covering all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking - in accordance with the new 5-14 guidelines.
